We have discussed the obstacles to our inner peace and peace in relationship personally in addition to peace with co-workers. The obstacle topics have covered a lot of ground - anything from driving to the haunting self talk that keeps us from doing the things we love to do in work and play. What are the obstacles to you living in peace inside and out? What are the types of incidences that interrupt your peaceful day? Here are a few tools for adding peace and mindfulness in your day:

Use a mindful bell/tone on your phone hourly to remind you to breathe and notice your needs for nurishment, exercise (take a quick walk), positive input (a friendly conversation or a motivational cd in the car), time to shut down and relax for a moment.

Be sure to have life enhancing information or music in your car. Randomly listening to the radio can be opening yourself up to information that is adrenaline producing or just plain not useful.

Take a walk and notice nature. Even if justs around the block or walking to your car, breathe and notice the birds, trees, or even a cloud. Nature is nurturing.

Call a friend and ask "what is good in your life today?".

Living peace is an active intention. Notice the ways you choose peace today, and let me know what you do to introduce peace and mindfulness in your day.

Join us at the Center For Living Peace Tuesday evenings 6:30-8:30 in Irvine.
http://events.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=mxk7mzeab&oeidk=a07e3nvvwvi3a1c215e

Finding Possibilities in Marriage Conflict?

No one likes struggling with relationship problems but we have all been there! Everything from being grateful for the silence you experience in a moment of your day to the colors of a summer day or the ability to pay the bills. This is a nice habit to reinforce as you continue on your journey to emotional freedom.

Continue with your list until you have exhausted your ability to come up with more ideas. A nice bonus about doing this exercise regularly is that you will begin to notice more things you are grateful for throughout your day.

Now that you have made your list for today, notice if you see any patterns or categories. For example, my categories are often times about freedom or creative time, time with friends, nature (especially sunshine) or calm moments to rest. With these categories, notice the clues to how you want to live your life. With these clues, create a statement or affirmation to remind your self of your goal for how you live out your day and or life.

For example:
I live my life in full expansion and prosperity; my goal for my day and each day is to live in harmony, enjoy nature, create abundant joy, and always be open and receptive, expecting all of the good life has to offer.

Take a moment to think about your affirmation and how it resonates with you. You have the power to implement your affirmation statement in your life. As Louise Hay (Hay House Publishing) says “it’s your mind and no one thinks for you”. She is a great resource for creating affirmations to support your life goals.
Consider the possibilities...........................

Is Your "Grateful" Dead?

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_uDw9xzkTeBs/SoxujZ0lYJI/AAAAAAAAACw/IE60XApndb8/s200/Balance.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371790010052075666" />
Each day I try to remind myself of the things in my life that I am grateful for. It seems that in this economy, and in this day and age of raising children, the pressure cooker is at an all time high.

I actually had a client tell me recently that she felt like the lobster who's slowly but surely being boiled. My immediate thought was climb out of the pot! In reality we are all too stressed.

Do you take on too many responsibilities or tasks?
Do you lay awake unable to sleep at night?
Are you so stressed that you don't think clearly?

If you have answered yes to the questions above The Immersion Program can help you. I will teach you how to see possibilities that can help you change. Even little changes can create room for your life to move in a more positive direction.

Possibility Thinking Inc.'s Immersion Program was created initially for women struggling in their marriage and or going through a crisis although, it now seems to have more applications than ever. The idea behind The Immersion Program is to commit to a framework of well being in order to focus on living at neutral. In The Game of Possibilities (TM) neutral is the goal. We do our best thinking and decision making when we are relaxed and calm, able to consider the best possible result.

"To observe without evaluating is the highest form of intelligence."
- Jiddu Krishnamurti: 20th century Indian spiritual and philosophical writer

To learn more about The Immersion Program and to learn to create your own customized framework for well being (stress relief, and clear thinking), join me for a 90 day online program. I love the summer. I love the warm weather, I love the sun kissed color of my kid's skin, I love all activities at the beach and in the water.

One of the other things I love about summer is the way that the regular school schedule with homework and commitments get interrupted with fun! My kids are a good excuse to interrupt my regular work schedule too. We have been so blessed to have time with friends, trips to the beach, and spontaneous visitors.

The "down time" with friends has made me think about how inspiration can be far more productive than motivation. Usually when I do business planning for myself or with clients, we work with the end result in mind. Sometimes that looks like a succession plan, or a quarterly plan, for my personal clients it's usually a goal plan. The ingredient they all have in common is some sort of "win" or end result that creates progress. Sometimes progress looks like a new product, sometimes it looks like increased or new revenue or sometimes it is a set of baby steps that just have to be done.

The idea with business planning and or goal setting is that there is a desired end result that will in some way feel good! My usual approach is to help my clients to see the end result reward so that getting through the discipline of the steps is just a progression toward the reward. The problem still stands in getting yourself or clients to work the steps. Although, I can honestly say reward is a great motivator it still takes discipline to work the steps.

Recently sitting on the beach soaking up the sun and watching my kids literally roll in the warm sand, I felt more energized to write than ever. Sometimes writing is a chore for me. I am more apt to get up and "do" than sit and write. Most of the time I make a writing schedule to create my plan and my motivation comes from the catharsis of writing and the knowing I am moving toward my goal of completing the book. Although catharsis feels good, it's not always a good enough motivator given writing is necessary but not my favorite thing to do. So as I sat in the sun and watched the waves break, I thought about how small changes like the warmth of the sun instead of sitting at my desk can be quite inspirational.

One small change in my perspective changed how I felt about writing. Of course this reminded me that like The Game of Possibilities (TM) behavior is driven by feelings and feelings come from interpretation. The task of writing completely changed as my feelings and interpretation shifted to being inspired to write. One small change makes all the difference. My challenge to you is to find your inspiration for whatever is on your task list. If not sunshine, maybe good music or an inspirational speaker. Don't put off feeling good. Life's a game play to win (TM)!

Consider the possibilities...................................

I Fell Off The Wagon Today

Last week I talked about one aspect of the Possibility Thinking "Immersion Program" and how to stay focused on your goals. Whether they are career goals, relationships goals, financial goals, or happiness goals, they don't come to fruition if you don't stay focused and take the daily steps to get there.

The first rule of the "Immersion Program" is to surround yourself with positive life supporting information, energy, habits, and relationships. Listening to cds while driving of your favorite motivators, whoever they may be, are great for keeping the noise in your head to a dull roar. Your mobile phone bill will reflect a more positive number in the balance column as well!

So here is another aspect of the "Immersion Program" that will help keep you focused and on track. The second rule of the "Immersion Program" is no venting! I don't know about you, but one of my bad habits is letting a little pressure off of the frustrating events, conversations, situations, in my life by having a little RANT with a friend. I usually cloak it in humor so that we both get some entertainment out of it, but the truth is it's just complaining! What is complaining about? I think it's a way of making excuses for not having the things I want in my life. But who better than I to create the life I want?

Today I fell off the wagon, and had a really good rant session with a friend. I'd like to say I feel better after letting a little pressure off - BUT I DON'T. I just know I fell off the wagon of my "Immersion Program" that was working so well for me! I'm not saying you can't discuss problems or issues with friends. I am saying make it productive. The "problem solving" should be for your own good and goals, not a crabby discussion about how someone or something else ticks you off!!!

So here's the qualifier; is it the same old situation, relationship, problem, that you keeping responding to in the same way? Better known as banging your head against the wall! If so, then distract yourself with your tool box of positive reinforcements and focus on how you want to live your life today. What we focus on we get more of!!!

If it's a new situation you are not sure how to manage, talk with someone in your support system who understands your "Immersion Program" goals and how to assist you in coming up with creative solutions that fit for your goals and life's focus. Possibility Thinking, Inc. is starting a new program for a "Immersion Program" buddy system and forum to help support you in sticking to your goals and living the amazing life you are meant to live, by your design. Stay tuned for more information on how to participate in these groups. If you have questions or an interest in finding out more about how to get involved email me: susan@possibilitythinkinginc.com

So how am I getting back after falling off the wagon? First, I confessed to my friend, who so generously let me waste her time! Second, I let her know that I realize I fell of the wagon and got back on! The third thing I did was hit play on Wayne Dyer's new cd Excuses Begone. You can click on the Possibility Store on the side bar and get it from Amazon too! Support the work of Possibility Thinking and support your wonderful life. Let me know what you think and consider the possibilities............

Total Immersion, No Time for Coming Up for Air!

You'd think that doesn't sound very good but I'm here to tell you it works! It's a part of my "Immersion Program" better know as staying focused on my goals - with no excuses and no negative outside influences!

Staying focused on personal and work goals is tough in this time of electronic media, and being inundated by incoming information - some good and a lot that's not so helpful. In my self created and imposed "Immersion Program" I don't allow myself to be influenced by the things that distract me such as my mind chatter, bad news in the economy, or anything else that drains my energy or distracts me from progress.

Distractions and negative influences are just one of the aspects of my "Immersion Program" but here's how it works:

1. Avoid unnecessary mobile phone conversations - we all tend to get on the phone any free moment we have. Contrary to our habits, we are not computers that need to be running all the time. Just for a change of pace, try being mindful of driving, the scenery around you, or even just breathing. It's good to take a break from "doing" and "thinking". Is it possible it's nice to just breathe for a few moments?

2. My favorite way to avoid negative influences and distractions is to have a rule that I can only listen to life affirming cds and speakers. I don't know about you but my mind wanders to previous conversations, my to do list, and all sorts of things I haven't completed if it's free to wander. My personal "Immersion Program" calls for me to hit the cd button as soon as I get in the car and only listen to something that supports my happiness, my personal goals and values, and best of all is FUN! No, I don't make my kids listen - but no matter what car time is life affirming!

So here's what I am currently listening to: Louise Hay - Receiving Prosperity. It's a great reminder of how our thoughts and perspectives drive our our ability to prosper in health, relationships, wealth, and joy. You can listen too! You can order it right here on the blog side column from Amazon! I'm an Amazon affiliate so it costs the same whether you go straight to Amazon or through my blog. If you purchase through my site, you support Possibility Thinking, Inc. and Me!

Surround yourself with all that affirms your life...... and Consider The Possibilities!!

Russian Roulette Or A Relationship You Decide?

Frequently client's drive the topic for my blog. This week's blog is a reminder of Possibility Thinking in Relationships (TM).

It seems the "world" is in pain over Kate & Jon's relationship problems. I didn't even know who Kate and Jon were! It seems that it isn't enough for them to have 8 kids, they also want to raise them and air their relationship on national television for all to see and comment.

Not to be negative BUT, immediately my question is "is it possible that is an impossible task?" So I started thinking about how often I set my relationships up with "impossible tasks". All of us have habits that either support and grow our relationships, or deter from the positive growth of our relationships. So like the red car analogy, whatever you look for, you see.

So here's the challenge - in your daily habits in relationships at work, home, family, and network, what habits are not working for you? Like red cars, if you look for them you will find them. Then what? My suggestion and challenge to you is to do some Possibility Thinking!

When you catch yourself in a habit that doesn't work for you (the test of the habit is do you feel better because of it?)STOP interrupt your usual habit or response and ask yourself is it possible? Is it possible this situation is just not that personal? Is it possible I never realized I respond this way? Is it possible there is something happening here that I don't know about?

If the answer is yes, is it possible I would feel better if I responded differently? Give it a try!
When we place "meaning" on situations, interactions, words, events, we typically have an emotional response to the "meaning" we have assigned. Emotional reactivity can be exhausting! So if you decide what the event "means" and respond emotionally to that "meaning" who decides how you feel?

Consider the possibilities.............and let me know which works better Russian Roulette or a relationship!

What Does It Take To Succeed In This Market?

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 97px; height: 130px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_uDw9xzkTeBs/ShSf2kfy0PI/AAAAAAAAACA/-EMlOjJjCe4/s320/s1361671793_342645_1734399.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338067218199662834" />
Currently clients are asking "What does it take to succeed in this market?" That's a tricky question but here is my answer and challenge to you........................

When playing The Game of Possibilities (TM) clients look at the "meaning" placed on an event or situation. In my experience, it's a part of human nature to assign meaning to events, conversations, and situations around us.

As humans our nature is to connect, create understanding, have relationships with our loved ones, family, friends, our environment. "Meaning" comes from the interpretation we create based on the "evidence" we see and hear. With the "meaning" we assign also comes our emotional response. My suggestion is that the exercise really is what meaning gives us the best outcome? In other words, how do I want to feel?

My favorite analogy is a conversation with my oldest sister Kathy where she mentioned she was watching the movie Saving Private Ryan again. AGAIN! My thought was, based on the trailers, I couldn't watch the movie once let alone a number of times. So when I asked how did she stand all the violence, her response was "it's the beautiful relationship between the brothers that makes me love this movie". Wow. I had never even considered that. Truely it's all in your interpretation.

The point in my analogy is that she placed very different "meaning" on the things she saw in the movie than I did. So in turn she had a much different emotional response to the things she saw. My response to the fighting and killing I saw in the trailer was, that will be awful to watch and will make me feel sad. I avoided seeing anything to do with the movie.

So my challenge to you my friends is to notice the "meaning" you place on words spoken, events around you, exchanges with coworkers/spouses/friends. Interrupt your immediate response (we all have one) and ask yourself "WHAT ELSE COULD THIS POSSIBLY MEAN?"

Is it possible that the guy who cut me off on the freeway never even saw me? Is it possible I didn't see him? Is it possible that what he/she said at the office could be misconstrued? Is it possible that it could "mean" anything other than my immediate reaction/interpretation? If so, would I be better off working from my negative interpretation "its all personal" or would I be better off responding from positive or neutral ground?

I suggest that the way to succeed in this market is to interrupt negative emotional reactions to the market, to coworkers, spouses, friends (even on the freeway). Make each day count toward your success goals, make clear decisions, and create conversations from neutral ground.

Life's a Game - Play to win (TM) and consider the possibilities!

To learn more about The Game of Possibilities (TM) and register to win one 1-hour consulting session sign up for our Possibility Thinking, Inc. newsletter. This month I invite you to Surrender and Retreat!

If you struggle with working on your business and often times feel like you never really gain any ground, you may want to try this month's exercise below. Give it a try and see if surrender is key for clarity and effectiveness in your business like it is in mine and be sure to check out the retreat!

Surrender Exercise For Clarity And Effectiveness In Your Business

Surrender is funny word. For most of us women entrepreneurs it's right up there with submissiveness - not going to happen. Luckily, I surround myself with brilliant woman most of which more evolved than I that help me to see past the "blocks" to my success in business and in life.

One of these brilliant women, my sister Janet, recently suggested this surrender exercise. I may have taken some creative license but here's how it works.

Take a piece of paper, fold and cut so you have at least 4 squares. Believe me, once I started to run with this I needed a lot more squares. With each square paper write down an idea or habit that "blocks" you from your creative entrepreneur SELF. For instance, my silly need for perfection - even when I know it doesn't really exist! So on the paper I wrote: " I surrender my need for perfection". Another good one for me was "I surrender my resistance to change". You can surrender events, thoughts, bad habits, or feelings. You may have different wording or even want to include pictures.

Now for the rest of the exercise. Take the paper fold them in half and pin them to a cork board. So the idea is you have surrendered and as the situation/thought/feeling changes feel free to toss the paper since you won't need it anymore. Notice how the thoughts and issues that have consumed your mind have either resolved themselves, you have resolved them, or maybe it's just not relevant any longer. Note to self; you don't get to take them off the board until you're done with it!

After I did the paper exercise, I decided to include "I surrender..........." as my mantra as I take my walks. Once I get started the flood gates open but once I have walked them off I feel much lighter. Creativity and clarity come from a calm neutral place. Give it a try and let me know how the exercise works for you and how your effectiveness in your business improves.

And Now On To The Retreat
In an effort to provide business owners resources for getting past their blocks both personally and professionally, we are proud to announce a great opportunity of business planning in a beautiful retreat setting.

As I mentioned earlier, I like to surround myself with brilliant women who are innovative thinkers. My wonderful friend and favorite creative product development coach Laura Bray is hosting a workshop Multiple Streams of Income in a lovely retreat setting at a privately-owned ranch in Claremont.

I am so proud to announce that I have the opportunity to play The Game of Possibilities (TM) with the participants of this wonderful workshop. We will be playing The Game and "unblocking" all the obstacles that get in the way of creativity and thriving businesses.

To join us for a day of effective business planning go to:

http://www.katydid-designs.com/Workshops___Classes.html

Consider the possibilities!

To sign up for the Possibility Thinking, Inc. newsletter see sign up button in right hand column.

Unblocking Your Possibilities

I've been working on the "products" for The Game of Possibilities (TM) in addition to the software development project. UGH! Not my thing! Clearly I have some blocks to my creativity when it comes to designing and launching products. I can work with clients and do the "thinking" all day long, but when it comes to creating the material I go "DOE IN HEADLIGHTS".

My usual modeus operandus when I am stuck is go straight to the expert. I don't like to recreate the wheel so, I try to find someone who already has the expertise I need. Laura has an amazing talent for taking a concept to design and product. She is an unusual combination of an MBA, dream chaser and artist. One of her gifts to her clients and friends is her ability to break concepts/projects down into manageable steps. I am a zero to sixty girl myself so I need the support of a step by step method. The beauty of the exercise for me has been to "unblock" my possibilities for creativity and enjoy the "creation process" in product development.

When I saw the first set of The Game of Possibilities Playing Cards (TM) I was overcome with joy - there was my baby out in the world and REAL! It is possible for me to be creative without being stuck in my need for perfection and immediate gratification!!

Do you ever find yourself "stuck" and or "blocked" in your creativity? Do you and your business need some creative nurturing? If so, join me and my wonderful friend Laura, for a day of creative renewal and business planning. Laura is offering this retreat for a small number of participants at a private ranch in Claremont. Her step by step method to business planning and creative product development will have you ready to jump start your business the very next day. Best of all it will be a great group of creative business owners in a gorgeous setting for your inspiration.

Check out the details: http://www.katydid-designs.com/Workshops___Classes.html Take a look at the beautiful ranch location:http://katydiddys.blogspot.com/2009/05/do-you-want-to-see-me-in-action.html

I look forward to seeing in June for this great day of creativity and release of all that "blocks" us from total prosperity! Notice how you can be relatively calm and someone asks you how you are. Your answer is focused on the fact you are feeling ok. But when someone asks you the same question and you are in upset, your answer reflects the feeling of upset. What changed? Can events make you feel a particular emotion?

Some times there really is a crisis at hand and your fear and adrenaline are needed to get you through it. Hopefully crisises are few and far between. Most of the time feelings are based on the meaning we place on situations and events.

Just for fun...... notice "what is the meaning I am placing on this situation"? Consider other possible "meanings" to the situation. Can a situation make us feel a certain way or is it the "meaning we place on the situation"?

I suggest we make better decisions about the things that go on around us when we are calm and neutral. For instance, when I get therapeutic massage from my favorite massage therapist http://www.sacredartshealing.com/TreatmentPackages.html I feel calm and generally good about my life. When I dwell on the "worry list" I am stressed out and irritable. What's changed?

I guess the real question is "how do you want to feel"? You decide. Consider the possibilities!!!

Free Money! While I have your attention, what are your blocks to making money, having enough money, and not being a slave to the worry habit about money?

In my work with clients who have what would be considered a lot of money and those with very little money the themes are the same. Most of us find ourselves in one of these three categories. Which one of the categories do you fit in?

1. "I work and work and yet I still don't have enough money."
2. "I am always looking to make more money, how to save more money, I feel like I am constantly chasing after money."
3. "I lay awake at night worrying about money, what can I do? It's the economy."

We all have beliefs about money, it's an emotional topic. How is your relationship to money? Do you identify with any one or all of the categories? If so, does it drain your energy do you feel like a slave to money?

Here's the good news. Beliefs about money are the same as any other beliefs, we created them because in some way that belief served us. If your belief doesn't serve you anymore - GET RID OF IT!!!

It's my passion to help free my clients from beliefs and behavior patterns that aren't getting them the results they want and deserve. Let me know if I can help you too!

Are you ready to unhook your emotional relationship to money? Would you like to discover how to unlock your creativity and make more money with ease and pleasure? Would you like to be more available and open to money coming to you?

For a limited time I am offering new clients 3, one hour phone sessions for $200.00. Are you the girl that says "thank God it's the weekend, I need a break from the pressure?" Are you feeling under pressure with all the negativity about the economy, people loosing their homes, in addition to all the things you already manage? If the answer is yes, take a minute to check-in "where's your head at?"

Although grammatically incorrect, a good question to ask yourself! If you are feeling less hopeful and under more pressure, does it effect your relationships, your energy levels, your happiness? If you are like most of us - it's tough not to.

Here's my challenge to you: If we all can see the "evidence" for all the negativity, look for the "evidence" for the things that are currently working for you in your life and those around you. Just for the fun of it I will keep you updated on all the "evidence" I see for myself and my clients that there are a lot good things happening in this current environment. Stay tuned and CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITIES!
