911 Things To Be Grateful For!
In your journal make a list of all the things, big or small, that you are grateful for today. Everything from being grateful for the silence you experience in a moment of your day to the colors of a summer day or the ability to pay the bills. This is a nice habit to reinforce as you continue on your journey to emotional freedom.
Continue with your list until you have exhausted your ability to come up with more ideas. A nice bonus about doing this exercise regularly is that you will begin to notice more things you are grateful for throughout your day.
Now that you have made your list for today, notice if you see any patterns or categories. For example, my categories are often times about freedom or creative time, time with friends, nature (especially sunshine) or calm moments to rest. With these categories, notice the clues to how you want to live your life. With these clues, create a statement or affirmation to remind your self of your goal for how you live out your day and or life.
For example:
I live my life in full expansion and prosperity; my goal for my day and each day is to live in harmony, enjoy nature, create abundant joy, and always be open and receptive, expecting all of the good life has to offer.
Take a moment to think about your affirmation and how it resonates with you. You have the power to implement your affirmation statement in your life. As Louise Hay (Hay House Publishing) says “it’s your mind and no one thinks for you”. She is a great resource for creating affirmations to support your life goals.

Is Your "Grateful" Dead?
Each day I try to remind myself of the things in my life that I am grateful for. If The Lobster Knew She Was Slowly Coming to a Boil - Wouldn't She Crawl Out of the Pot?

Many of my personal clients recently have talked about their relationship struggles. It seems that in this economy, and in this day and age of raising children, the pressure cooker is at an all time high.
I actually had a client tell me recently that she felt like the lobster who's slowly but surely being boiled. My immediate thought was climb out of the pot! In reality we are all too stressed.
Do you take on too many responsibilities or tasks?
Do you lay awake unable to sleep at night?
Are you so stressed that you don't think clearly?
If you have answered yes to the questions above The Immersion Program can help you. I will teach you how to see possibilities that can help you change. Even little changes can create room for your life to move in a more positive direction.
Possibility Thinking Inc.'s Immersion Program was created initially for women struggling in their marriage and or going through a crisis although, it now seems to have more applications than ever. The idea behind The Immersion Program is to commit to a framework of well being in order to focus on living at neutral. In The Game of Possibilities (TM) neutral is the goal. We do our best thinking and decision making when we are relaxed and calm, able to consider the best possible result.
"To observe without evaluating is the highest form of intelligence."
- Jiddu Krishnamurti: 20th century Indian spiritual and philosophical writer

Inspiration vs Motivation

I have been soaking up the summer sun and loving it! I love the summer. I love the warm weather, I love the sun kissed color of my kid's skin, I love all activities at the beach and in the water.
One of the other things I love about summer is the way that the regular school schedule with homework and commitments get interrupted with fun! My kids are a good excuse to interrupt my regular work schedule too. We have been so blessed to have time with friends, trips to the beach, and spontaneous visitors.
The "down time" with friends has made me think about how inspiration can be far more productive than motivation. Usually when I do business planning for myself or with clients, we work with the end result in mind. Sometimes that looks like a succession plan, or a quarterly plan, for my personal clients it's usually a goal plan. The ingredient they all have in common is some sort of "win" or end result that creates progress. Sometimes progress looks like a new product, sometimes it looks like increased or new revenue or sometimes it is a set of baby steps that just have to be done.
The idea with business planning and or goal setting is that there is a desired end result that will in some way feel good! My usual approach is to help my clients to see the end result reward so that getting through the discipline of the steps is just a progression toward the reward. The problem still stands in getting yourself or clients to work the steps. Although, I can honestly say reward is a great motivator it still takes discipline to work the steps.
Recently sitting on the beach soaking up the sun and watching my kids literally roll in the warm sand, I felt more energized to write than ever. Sometimes writing is a chore for me. I am more apt to get up and "do" than sit and write. Most of the time I make a writing schedule to create my plan and my motivation comes from the catharsis of writing and the knowing I am moving toward my goal of completing the book. Although catharsis feels good, it's not always a good enough motivator given writing is necessary but not my favorite thing to do. So as I sat in the sun and watched the waves break, I thought about how small changes like the warmth of the sun instead of sitting at my desk can be quite inspirational.
One small change in my perspective changed how I felt about writing. Of course this reminded me that like The Game of Possibilities (TM) behavior is driven by feelings and feelings come from interpretation. The task of writing completely changed as my feelings and interpretation shifted to being inspired to write. One small change makes all the difference. My challenge to you is to find your inspiration for whatever is on your task list. If not sunshine, maybe good music or an inspirational speaker. Don't put off feeling good. Life's a game play to win (TM)!

I Fell Off The Wagon Today
Last week I talked about one aspect of the Possibility Thinking "Immersion Program" and how to stay focused on your goals. Whether they are career goals, relationships goals, financial goals, or happiness goals, they don't come to fruition if you don't stay focused and take the daily steps to get there.
The first rule of the "Immersion Program" is to surround yourself with positive life supporting information, energy, habits, and relationships. Listening to cds while driving of your favorite motivators, whoever they may be, are great for keeping the noise in your head to a dull roar. Your mobile phone bill will reflect a more positive number in the balance column as well!
So here is another aspect of the "Immersion Program" that will help keep you focused and on track. The second rule of the "Immersion Program" is no venting! I don't know about you, but one of my bad habits is letting a little pressure off of the frustrating events, conversations, situations, in my life by having a little RANT with a friend. I usually cloak it in humor so that we both get some entertainment out of it, but the truth is it's just complaining! What is complaining about? I think it's a way of making excuses for not having the things I want in my life. But who better than I to create the life I want?
Today I fell off the wagon, and had a really good rant session with a friend. I'd like to say I feel better after letting a little pressure off - BUT I DON'T. I just know I fell off the wagon of my "Immersion Program" that was working so well for me! I'm not saying you can't discuss problems or issues with friends. I am saying make it productive. The "problem solving" should be for your own good and goals, not a crabby discussion about how someone or something else ticks you off!!!
So here's the qualifier; is it the same old situation, relationship, problem, that you keeping responding to in the same way? Better known as banging your head against the wall! If so, then distract yourself with your tool box of positive reinforcements and focus on how you want to live your life today. What we focus on we get more of!!!
If it's a new situation you are not sure how to manage, talk with someone in your support system who understands your "Immersion Program" goals and how to assist you in coming up with creative solutions that fit for your goals and life's focus. Possibility Thinking, Inc. is starting a new program for a "Immersion Program" buddy system and forum to help support you in sticking to your goals and living the amazing life you are meant to live, by your design. Stay tuned for more information on how to participate in these groups. If you have questions or an interest in finding out more about how to get involved email me: susan@possibilitythinkinginc.com
So how am I getting back after falling off the wagon? First, I confessed to my friend, who so generously let me waste her time! Second, I let her know that I realize I fell of the wagon and got back on! The third thing I did was hit play on Wayne Dyer's new cd Excuses Begone. You can click on the Possibility Store on the side bar and get it from Amazon too! Support the work of Possibility Thinking and support your wonderful life. Total Immersion, No Time for Coming Up for Air!

You'd think that doesn't sound very good but I'm here to tell you it works! It's a part of my "Immersion Program" better know as staying focused on my goals - with no excuses and no negative outside influences!
Staying focused on personal and work goals is tough in this time of electronic media, and being inundated by incoming information - some good and a lot that's not so helpful. In my self created and imposed "Immersion Program" I don't allow myself to be influenced by the things that distract me such as my mind chatter, bad news in the economy, or anything else that drains my energy or distracts me from progress.
Distractions and negative influences are just one of the aspects of my "Immersion Program" but here's how it works:
1. Avoid unnecessary mobile phone conversations - we all tend to get on the phone any free moment we have. Contrary to our habits, we are not computers that need to be running all the time. Just for a change of pace, try being mindful of driving, the scenery around you, or even just breathing. It's good to take a break from "doing" and "thinking". Is it possible it's nice to just breathe for a few moments?
2. My favorite way to avoid negative influences and distractions is to have a rule that I can only listen to life affirming cds and speakers. I don't know about you but my mind wanders to previous conversations, my to do list, and all sorts of things I haven't completed if it's free to wander. My personal "Immersion Program" calls for me to hit the cd button as soon as I get in the car and only listen to something that supports my happiness, my personal goals and values, and best of all is FUN! No, I don't make my kids listen - but no matter what car time is life affirming!
So here's what I am currently listening to: Louise Hay - Receiving Prosperity. It's a great reminder of how our thoughts and perspectives drive our our ability to prosper in health, relationships, wealth, and joy. You can listen too! You can order it right here on the blog side column from Amazon! I'm an Amazon affiliate so it costs the same whether you go straight to Amazon or through my blog. If you purchase through my site, you support Possibility Thinking, Inc. and Me!
Surround yourself with all that affirms your life...... and Consider The Possibilities!!
